Shelling -
The best on Florida's west coast! North Captiva Island beaches present an
unsurpassed abundance of shells which is constantly renewed by the ocean currents along
the island.
Fishing - Some of
the west coast's best fishing is directly off the island's beaches and docks. Rental
boats, bait, and other supplies are available.
Biking and Hiking
- The northern end of the Island is honeycombed with miles of narrow shell roads both
inland and along the beach. The Wildlife Sanctuary is bordered on the Gulf by
3 1/2 miles of pristine white sand beaches.
Swimming -
The gulf and bay beaches are unbeatable. For those who prefer a pool, the North Captiva Island Club has two heated Olympic size pools, with outdoor Jacuzzi, a bathhouse, sauna, and steam room.
Tennis - Modern
lighted har-tru surface tennis courts are available to North Captiva Island Club members.
Dining
- The
island restaurants offer gourmet fish and seafood along with steaks and other turf
items. Casual dress, but shoes and shirts, please.
Golf - Alden
Pines is an 18 hole golf course located two minutes from the marina. It is open
to the public and reachable by regularly scheduled water taxi or charter services.
Transportation -
If you arrive at Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers, prior
arrangements can be made for a taxi to meet you for your drive to the marina.
Parking is available at the marina for guests arriving by car.
Water Taxi -
The island is a short 20-25 minute boat ride from the mainland. The boats are well equipped, manned by licensed Captains. Private
charters available on request from Captiva Island.
Boating -
Available at reasonable half day , full day, weekly rates, by prior reservation.
